Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates, combining modern cities, desert landscapes, beaches, and offshore islands rather than being a single island destination. Job opportunities are strong in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology, construction, healthcare, and education, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture is multicultural but rooted in Islamic traditions, so respectful dress, punctuality, and sensitivity during Ramadan are important. Lifestyle ranges from luxury shopping and dining to outdoor activities, cultural attractions, and desert excursions. Employees normally need an employer-sponsored residence visa, work permit, medical examination, and Emirates ID; Emirati nationals follow different employment arrangements and nationalisation programmes. Companies may provide accommodation, transport, insurance, flights, or relocation assistance, but these benefits should be confirmed in the offer. Living costs, especially rent, can be high in major cities.
