Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, multicultural island city with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, finance, healthcare, and logistics. English is widely used, while Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil are also official languages. The lifestyle is safe, convenient, and highly connected, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks, and a warm tropical climate. Accommodation can be costly, especially near the city centre, so many workers share housing or live near MRT lines. Foreign employees normally need a work pass arranged by their employer, such as an S Pass or Employment Pass, and should not begin work before approval. Employers may request qualifications, experience, references, and medical checks. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, deposits, insurance, and daily expenses, and verify contract terms before relocating.
