Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hotel and resort opportunities across Luzon, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol and Mindanao, especially in culinary, housekeeping, guest services and tourism management. The culture is welcoming, family-oriented and strongly influenced by Spanish, American and Southeast Asian traditions. English is widely used in hospitality, while Filipino and local languages are common in daily life. Island living can mean beaches, outdoor activities and a relaxed pace, although transport, healthcare and supplies may be more limited outside major cities. Manila and Cebu provide broader professional services and international connections. Filipino citizens can relocate freely within the country. Foreign hires normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate employment visa, commonly a 9(g) pre-arranged employment visa; requirements should be confirmed with the employer and Philippine immigration authorities. Candidates should budget for housing, transport, insurance and airfare unless these are included in the offer.
