Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other resort destinations, particularly in hotels, restaurants, cruise services and tourism. The culture is welcoming, family-oriented and strongly influenced by Filipino, Spanish, American and regional traditions. English is widely used in workplaces, making communication easier for international hospitality professionals. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living in Manila to relaxed beach communities in Cebu, Palawan and Boracay. Living costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, although major resort areas can be relatively expensive. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an Alien Employment Permit, followed by the appropriate visa or immigration status; requirements can change, so confirmation with the employer and Philippine authorities is essential. Relocation planning should include accommodation, health insurance, transport, banking and local tax arrangements.
