Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the broadest hospitality and corporate job markets. Opportunities are strong in luxury hotels, tourism, airlines, events, retail, finance, technology, and property development. The culture combines traditional Emirati values with a highly international workforce; respectful dress, punctuality, and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches, desert activities, shopping, and restaurants to museums and major sporting events. Employers usually sponsor work visas, medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and residency formalities for successful overseas hires. Candidates should confirm the complete package, including housing, transport, insurance, flights, gratuity, and bonus terms. Living costs, particularly rent and schooling, can be high, although salaries are generally tax-free for individuals. Public transport is improving, but many residents use taxis or cars, and summer temperatures are extremely hot.
