Company Info

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and known for its hotels, resorts, and distinctive Asian-inspired approach to service. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international destinations. Shangri-La hotels typically provide accommodation, dining, spa, meeting, and guest-experience services, with a strong focus on genuine hospitality and attention to detail. Employees work in a multicultural environment and may receive benefits such as staff meals, training, medical coverage, discounted stays, and opportunities for career development, depending on the property and employment terms. The company’s Hong Kong hotels serve business travellers, leisure guests, and large events, making service quality, teamwork, language skills, and professional presentation particularly important.

Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, catering, retail, finance, technology, and tourism. Hospitality work is concentrated on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Lantau, and the New Territories. The culture is fast-paced and international, combining Chinese traditions with global influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in hotels and business settings. Lifestyle options range from vibrant dining and nightlife to beaches, hiking trails, and nearby islands. Housing is expensive and usually compact, so staff accommodation or a housing allowance can be valuable. Foreign employees generally need an appropriate work visa arranged or supported by an employer before starting work. Applicants should prepare passports, qualifications, references, and proof of relevant experience. Public transport is efficient, and the Octopus card makes daily travel convenient. New arrivals should budget carefully for rent, deposits, transport, and healthcare.
