Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, property management, facilities services, construction, finance, technology and tourism. Its culture combines Cantonese traditions, international influences, excellent food and a fast-paced urban lifestyle. The city has efficient public transport, dense neighbourhoods, coastal areas and easy access to hiking and beaches, although housing is expensive and living space is limited. Most expatriate professionals use English at work, while Cantonese is valuable for daily life and local team communication. Eligible overseas hires generally need an employment visa sponsored by the employer under the General Employment Policy; approval depends on qualifications, experience, a confirmed job and market-level pay. Candidates should arrange a written offer, visa sponsorship, accommodation planning, medical coverage and document authentication before relocating. Salaries may be tax-efficient compared with many global cities, but rent and schooling can be significant expenses.
