Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, energetic international city made up of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories. Hospitality opportunities are strongest in luxury hotels, restaurants, clubs, tourism, events, and catering, particularly in Central, Admiralty, Tsim Sha Tsui, and the airport area. Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in hotels and business settings; Mandarin is also useful. Life is fast-paced, highly connected, and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, hiking, beaches, and vibrant nightlife. Rents can be expensive, so employer accommodation or shared housing may be important. Foreign employees generally need a valid work visa sponsored by an employer, usually requiring a confirmed offer and suitable qualifications or experience. Applicants should arrange medical checks, documentation, insurance, and a local bank account before relocating.
