Company Info

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. The brand is known for warm Asian hospitality, personalised guest service and high standards in accommodation, dining, wellness and events. Its properties commonly include restaurants, spas, health clubs, pools and business or leisure facilities. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on colleague development, cultural awareness, teamwork and creating memorable guest experiences. Employment packages vary by property and position but may include service charge, meals, transport, medical cover, staff accommodation or housing support, annual leave and travel-related benefits.

Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates rather than an island destination. Dubai and Abu Dhabi offer the broadest hospitality, wellness, tourism and customer-service opportunities, while Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and other emirates provide growing resort employment. The culture blends Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a highly international workforce. Respectful dress, punctuality and consideration during Ramadan are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches, desert activities and shopping to museums, dining and outdoor recreation, although summer temperatures are extremely high. Employers normally arrange a residence visa and work permit after hiring; employees should not work on a tourist visa. UAE nationals may receive additional employment support through nationalisation programmes. Expatriates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, medical insurance, transport, probation, leave and end-of-service terms before relocating. Living costs, especially rent in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, can be significant, so the complete benefits package matters.
