Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, engineering, construction, technology, finance and logistics. The culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Life is convenient and safe, with excellent public transport, modern healthcare, diverse food, shopping and abundant parks. Housing can be expensive, especially near central areas, so many workers choose shared accommodation or neighborhoods connected by MRT. Foreign professionals generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, and approval depends on qualifications, salary, experience and government criteria. Employers usually guide applicants through the process, but candidates should confirm current requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. New arrivals should budget for rent, deposits, transport and medical insurance, and arrange authenticated qualifications and references before relocating.
