Destination Guide

The Philippines offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, aviation, business services, technology, and healthcare. Major employment centers include Metro Manila on Luzon, Cebu on the Visayas, and resort destinations such as Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, and Siargao. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and community-minded, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed beach communities; costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, although Manila and popular resorts can be expensive. Filipino citizens can relocate freely, while foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship, an Alien Employment Permit, and an appropriate work visa, commonly a 9(g) pre-arranged employment visa. Applicants should confirm current immigration rules, accommodation, healthcare, taxation, and transport arrangements before moving. Resort work may involve seasonal demand, long hours, and living away from major cities.
