Destination Guide

Spain’s islands, including the Canary Islands and Balearic Islands, offer strong employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, transport, wellness and entertainment. Seasonal recruitment is common, especially in resort areas such as Fuerteventura, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Mallorca and Ibiza. Spanish is valuable for daily life and guest communication, while English and German are frequently requested in tourism. Island culture combines relaxed social life, local festivals, seafood, outdoor markets and strong community traditions. Lifestyle benefits include beaches, water sports, hiking and mild weather, although housing can be expensive and availability limited in popular areas. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa but must complete local registration requirements. Non-EU applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, contract duration, salary and relocation costs before moving.
