Destination Guide

Australia offers opportunities in banking, technology, healthcare, education, construction, professional services, mining, tourism and renewable energy. Major employment centres include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, while regional areas may offer lifestyle advantages and selected migration pathways. Australian workplace culture is generally professional, practical and relatively informal, with emphasis on collaboration, inclusion, safety and work-life balance. Lifestyle choices range from busy cities and coastal living to quieter inland and regional communities. Costs vary considerably, with housing usually highest in Sydney and Melbourne. Overseas applicants normally need a valid visa with work rights, such as an employer-sponsored, skilled, graduate or working-holiday visa; eligibility depends on occupation, qualifications, age and English ability. Before relocating, research visa rules, healthcare, taxation, housing, transport and professional recognition. ANZ roles may require existing Australian work rights and local availability.
