Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers strong opportunities in IT support, cloud services, cybersecurity, software, finance and public-sector technology. London has the largest technology market, while Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds and Belfast also have established employers and generally different living costs. British workplace culture is usually professional, relatively informal and respectful of punctuality, personal space and clear communication. Lifestyle options range from busy urban living to coastal and rural communities, with reliable public transport in major cities but higher housing costs in London and the southeast. Non-UK nationals normally need the right to work, often through a Skilled Worker visa sponsored by an eligible employer; requirements include an eligible occupation, salary threshold and English-language evidence. EU citizens generally need settled or pre-settled status unless another visa applies. Research sponsorship, healthcare arrangements, taxes, housing and relocation costs before moving.
