Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology, cloud services, data centres, pharmaceuticals, finance, engineering and international business, particularly around Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. The culture is generally friendly, informal and community-oriented, with English widely used and an active social scene built around music, sport and local events. Lifestyle benefits include scenic coastlines, compact cities and good access to outdoor activities, although housing—especially in Dublin—can be expensive and competitive. EU, EEA and Swiss nationals can generally live and work without an employment permit. Non-EEA applicants usually need an employment permit, often arranged with employer support, and may require an employment visa before travelling. Prospective employees should check current Irish immigration rules, confirm sponsorship, arrange accommodation early and understand tax, healthcare and public-transport options before relocating.
