Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in software engineering, cloud computing, cybersecurity, pharmaceuticals, financial services, medical technology, and multinational technology companies. Dublin is the main technology hub, while Cork, Galway, Limerick, and Waterford also provide growing employment markets. Irish culture is generally welcoming, conversational, and community-oriented, with a strong social scene, music tradition, and access to beaches, countryside, and historic towns. Lifestyle benefits include English as the main workplace language, good international connections, and a moderate climate, although housing costs—especially in Dublin—are high. Non-EU nationals normally need an employment permit; experienced technology professionals may qualify for a Critical Skills Employment Permit, subject to salary and occupation requirements. Candidates should secure an offer, confirm employer sponsorship, arrange accommodation early, and budget for rent, transport, healthcare, and relocation expenses.
