Job Description

The Electrician (Motors) role involves inspecting, testing, repairing and maintaining electric motors, drives, pumps and related industrial electrical equipment at BlueScope Steel operations. Applicants are generally expected to hold an Australian electrical trade licence, have industrial maintenance experience and understand electrical safety, isolation and testing procedures. Experience with motors, variable-speed drives, control systems, fault finding and preventive maintenance is valuable. The successful candidate should be safety-focused, mechanically minded, reliable and comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment. Strong communication skills, teamwork, accurate maintenance records and the ability to respond to breakdowns and planned work are also expected. Flexibility for rostered shifts, overtime and site-specific medical or competency requirements may be necessary.
