Major employment centres include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and regional logistics hubs. The culture is generally informal, diverse and direct, with strong emphasis on workplace safety, punctuality and work-life balance. Lifestyle varies from busy coastal cities to quieter regional areas, with beaches, national parks, sport and outdoor activities widely available. Living costs, especially rent, can be high in Sydney and Melbourne. Non-citizens normally need a visa with work rights, such as an employer-sponsored, skilled, graduate or working-holiday visa; eligibility depends on nationality, occupation, age and qualifications.
