The Project Manager, Technical Projects is responsible for planning and delivering technical initiatives across Carnival Cruise Line operations. Strong budgeting, scheduling, vendor-management, risk-assessment, communication, and reporting skills are important. The successful candidate should coordinate cross-functional teams, manage contractors and stakeholders, monitor milestones and costs, resolve issues promptly, and ensure projects meet quality, safety, regulatory, and business requirements. Experience in the cruise, maritime, hospitality, or large-scale infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
Carnival Cruise Line is one of the world’s largest cruise operators and a flagship brand of Carnival Corporation & plc. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, the company operates a large fleet serving destinations throughout the Caribbean, The Bahamas, Mexico, Alaska, Europe, and other regions. Carnival is known for relaxed, family-friendly cruising, lively entertainment, diverse dining, and accessible vacation experiences. Its workforce includes shoreside professionals and shipboard teams working across marine operations, hotel services, food and beverage, technology, engineering, entertainment, sales, and guest relations. Technical project employees support the company’s ships, facilities, systems, and operational improvements. Carnival offers a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where projects may involve multiple departments, suppliers, destinations, and regulatory requirements.
Cruise work provides access to many islands rather than residence on one specific island. Common destinations include The Bahamas, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Caribbean islands such as Barbados and Aruba. Job opportunities range from marine and engineering positions to hospitality, culinary, entertainment, retail, guest services, and shore excursions. Life onboard is structured and social, with multicultural crews, shared accommodation, onboard facilities, and long working hours during contracts. Respect for different cultures, punctuality, safety procedures, and teamwork are essential. Visa requirements depend on nationality, position, itinerary, and embarkation port; crew may need transit or seafarer documents, medical clearance, and company-sponsored visas. Shoreside roles in Miami usually require U.S. work authorization, while relocation assistance varies. Employees should confirm requirements directly with Carnival and the relevant consulate before accepting an assignment.
