COORDINATOR, YOUTH PROGRAMS

On Cruise Carnival Cruises $45,000–$65,000 per year*
Job Description

The Coordinator, Youth Programs supports the planning, administration, and delivery of children’s and teen activities across Carnival Cruise Line operations. Candidates are typically expected to have experience in youth programming, recreation, education, childcare, hospitality, or event coordination, along with strong organizational and communication skills. The role may involve preparing schedules and materials, coordinating with shipboard and shoreside teams, monitoring program standards, and helping ensure a safe, engaging experience for young guests. A customer-focused attitude, creativity, sound judgment, and knowledge of youth safety procedures are important.

Company Info

Carnival Cruise Line is one of the world’s best-known cruise brands and a major part of Carnival Corporation & plc. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, the company operates a large fleet serving destinations throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, Europe, and other regions. Carnival is known for its fun, informal vacation experience, offering entertainment, dining, recreation, family activities, and youth programs for a broad range of travelers. Its workforce includes shoreside corporate teams and shipboard employees in hotel operations, marine services, guest relations, food and beverage, entertainment, technology, and youth programming. The company emphasizes memorable guest experiences, teamwork, safety, inclusion, and operational excellence. Benefits, work schedules, and employment conditions vary depending on whether a position is shoreside or onboard.

Destination Guide

For a cruise-based youth-programs role, the “island” is best understood as the ship and the rotating destinations it visits rather than one permanent island. Opportunities exist in youth clubs, recreation, guest services, entertainment, hospitality, food and beverage, retail, marine operations, and administration. Shipboard culture is international, energetic, and highly team-oriented, with long days, shared accommodation, and limited personal space balanced by travel and guest interaction. Crew members usually receive meals, lodging, medical support, and access to selected onboard facilities, though exact benefits vary. Employment normally requires a valid passport, medical clearance, background screening, and company-arranged seafarer or transit visas, depending on itinerary and nationality. Relocation generally means traveling to the assigned embarkation port; Carnival typically provides joining instructions rather than permanent housing. Employees should confirm visa costs, contracts, internet charges, leave policies, and repatriation terms before accepting an offer.
