Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers opportunities in apparel and textiles, IT, tourism, finance, logistics, engineering, healthcare, and business services. Colombo and nearby industrial areas provide the widest range of graduate and internship roles, while Kandy, Galle, and regional export zones also have employment opportunities. The island has a warm tropical climate, relatively affordable living costs, diverse food, and easy access to beaches, mountains, wildlife parks, and historic sites. Sinhala and Tamil are official languages, while English is widely used in workplaces. Foreign nationals generally need the appropriate employment or residence visa, normally supported by an employer; internships may require specific authorization, so applicants should confirm requirements with MAS and Sri Lankan immigration authorities. Relocating candidates should arrange accommodation, health insurance, transport, and sufficient funds before arrival.
