Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with opportunities in technology, telecommunications, finance, healthcare, logistics, engineering, consulting, and digital services. English is widely used at work, and the culture is multicultural, professional, and generally punctual, with strong emphasis on education and performance. Public transport is efficient, while housing, dining, and entertainment range from affordable local options to premium choices. Interns and professionals usually need an appropriate work pass; eligible internships may use a Training Employment Pass or another employer-sponsored arrangement, while longer-term roles commonly require an Employment Pass or S Pass. Check current requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower and the employer. Relocation is straightforward but housing can be expensive, so budgeting for rent, transport, healthcare, and deposits is important.
