Destination Guide

Australia offers employment opportunities in telecommunications, retail, healthcare, construction, technology, education, hospitality and professional services. Major opportunities are concentrated in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, while regional centres can offer retail, tourism and trades work. Australian workplaces are generally informal, practical and diverse, with emphasis on punctuality, safety, teamwork and clear communication. Lifestyle varies from urban cultural activities and cafés to beaches, national parks and outdoor sports. Living costs are high in major cities, especially rent and transport. Visa options include employer-sponsored visas, skilled migration, student visas and Working Holiday visas, depending on nationality, age, qualifications and occupation. Before relocating, check eligibility, work rights, health insurance, tax requirements and local rental conditions. Mornington is a coastal area south of Melbourne with a relaxed lifestyle, but commuting and housing costs should be considered.
