Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology, logistics, and professional services. Its culture combines Cantonese traditions, international influences, festivals, excellent food, and a fast-paced urban lifestyle. Residents enjoy efficient public transport, safe neighbourhoods, vibrant shopping and dining, beaches, hiking trails, and nearby islands such as Lantau and Cheung Chau. Housing can be expensive, especially near central business and hotel districts, so many employees choose areas connected by the MTR. Overseas professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, while employers typically handle much of the application process. Applicants should prepare qualifications, employment records, a valid passport, and proof of relevant experience. Accommodation, medical coverage, tax, and relocation assistance should be confirmed with Shangri-La before accepting an offer.
