Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare and retail. Hotel roles are especially common in central districts, Marina Bay, Orchard, Sentosa and the airport area. The culture is multicultural, orderly and fast-paced, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Public transport is clean, reliable and extensive, while food centres, shopping malls, parks and cultural neighbourhoods make daily life convenient. Rent can be expensive, particularly near the city centre, so shared accommodation or housing farther from central areas may be practical. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an S Pass or Employment Pass, subject to eligibility and government approval; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and sector requirements. Candidates should confirm the exact pass, benefits and relocation support directly with Shangri-La before accepting an offer.
