Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, and other resort destinations. Hotel professionals can find roles in restaurants, resorts, banquets, events, wellness, and guest services. Malaysian culture combines Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences, reflected in its food, festivals, languages, and customs. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, although central Kuala Lumpur and popular islands can be more expensive. Langkawi is relaxed and beach-oriented, while Penang offers heritage, dining, and urban conveniences. Foreign employees normally need an employment pass arranged and sponsored by the employer before starting work; requirements depend on nationality, salary, and role. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, medical checks, taxes, and relocation assistance directly with Shangri-La.
