Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology and healthcare. The culture is multicultural, combining Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western influences, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle is convenient and safe, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks and a busy international social scene. Rent can be expensive, especially near central areas, so many employees share accommodation or live farther from the city centre. Foreign professionals generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, and the employer normally handles the application. Check current Ministry of Manpower requirements before accepting an offer. Relocation costs, accommodation, medical coverage and pass eligibility should be confirmed with Shangri-La’s recruitment team.
