Job Description

The Steamer supports the Shang Palace kitchen by preparing and cooking steamed dim sum, seafood, meats and other Chinese dishes according to established recipes and food-safety standards. Requirements typically include previous experience in a Chinese restaurant, dim sum kitchen or hotel culinary operation, knowledge of steaming techniques, ingredient preparation and hygiene procedures. The candidate should be physically fit, dependable and able to work quickly under pressure. Attention to detail, consistency, teamwork and willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays are expected. Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and basic English or workplace communication skills would be advantageous.
