Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a fast-paced international city and a major gateway to opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, retail, aviation and professional services. Hotel jobs are concentrated around Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the airport and resort areas, with strong demand for experienced supervisors and multilingual staff. The culture blends Cantonese traditions, international influences, excellent food and festivals with a highly efficient urban lifestyle. Rent can be expensive, but public transport is extensive and reliable; many residents live in compact apartments or commute from the New Territories. Employment generally requires an employer-sponsored Hong Kong employment visa, with qualifications, relevant experience, a confirmed offer and proof that the role cannot easily be filled locally. Applicants should check current Immigration Department rules. Bring original credentials, budget carefully for deposits and explore neighbourhoods before relocating. Hong Kong also offers beaches, hiking trails, islands and countryside escapes.
