Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in festivals, languages, food, and neighbourhoods. The lifestyle is convenient and generally safe, with excellent public transport, efficient services, modern shopping areas, green spaces, and vibrant hawker centres. Accommodation and daily expenses can be high, especially near central districts, so new arrivals should budget carefully and compare shared housing options. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass is aimed at qualifying professional roles, while the S Pass and Work Permit cover other eligible positions subject to requirements and quotas. Employers normally submit applications, and approval depends on salary, qualifications, nationality, and sector rules. Secure a written offer, confirm the pass type, and check current requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower before relocating.
