Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, well-connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, engineering, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. Its culture is multicultural, with Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences reflected in food, festivals, and daily life. Public transport is efficient, while housing, dining, and entertainment range from affordable local options to premium choices. The climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. Foreign employees generally need a valid work pass arranged by an employer, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, and sector rules. Relocating usually requires budgeting carefully because rent can be high. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, healthcare coverage, banking, transport access, and local identification after approval of their pass.
