Job Description

The Junior Sous Chef (Pastry) supports the pastry kitchen in preparing breads, cakes, desserts and other baked products to Shangri-La’s quality standards. Requirements typically include professional pastry or culinary training, relevant hotel or upscale restaurant experience, strong knowledge of baking techniques, food safety and hygiene, and the ability to manage production during busy service periods. The candidate is expected to assist with menu preparation, supervise junior team members, control ingredients and wastage, maintain cleanliness, and consistently deliver attractive, high-quality products. Creativity, attention to detail, teamwork, reliability and willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays are important for this role.
