Cyber Security Lead

Job Description

The Cyber Security Lead is expected to guide security operations, risk management, threat detection, incident response and the implementation of protective controls across Optus systems and networks. Candidates typically need strong experience in cybersecurity, security governance, vulnerability management, cloud and infrastructure protection, and relevant frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST or the Essential Eight. The role requires leadership, sound judgement and the ability to explain technical risks clearly to business stakeholders. Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM or GIAC are advantageous. The successful candidate should be collaborative, commercially aware and comfortable leading security improvements in a complex telecommunications environment.
