Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, security, retail, aviation, finance, technology and logistics. Hotel security roles are concentrated in Central, Admiralty, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, Lantau and major resort areas. Life is fast-paced and convenient, with excellent public transport, dense neighborhoods, international food and easy access to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in hotels and business settings. Rent can be expensive, especially on Hong Kong Island and in central Kowloon, so many employees share accommodation or live in the New Territories. Overseas workers generally need an approved employment visa before starting work; the employer normally sponsors the application and must demonstrate a genuine vacancy and suitable salary. Security duties may also require a Hong Kong Security Personnel Permit. Check current immigration and licensing rules before relocating.
