Destination Guide

Malaysia offers resort and hospitality opportunities in destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, Sabah, and island resorts along the east coast. Jobs commonly include lifeguarding, guest services, housekeeping, food and beverage, diving, recreation, engineering, and wellness. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, and international influences; English is widely used in hotels, while Malay is the national language. Island life is generally relaxed and scenic, with beaches, outdoor activities, warm weather, and a lower cost of living than many international resort destinations, although transport and supplies can cost more on smaller islands. Foreign employees normally need employer-sponsored authorization, such as an employment pass or permitted temporary work arrangement, before starting work. Employers may assist with visas, accommodation, meals, flights, and transfers, but conditions differ. Confirm the exact island, contract benefits, medical requirements, and immigration process before relocating.
