Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, finance, technology and healthcare. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in festivals, food and everyday life. Public transport is fast, reliable and extensive, while the city is clean, safe and highly organized. Housing can be expensive, particularly in central areas, so many workers share accommodation or live farther from the city center. Singapore has a tropical climate with year-round heat, humidity and frequent rain. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass or S Pass may apply depending on qualifications, salary and occupation, while lower-skilled hospitality roles may use a Work Permit. Employers typically handle applications. Candidates should confirm pass eligibility, accommodation costs, healthcare coverage and employment terms before relocating.
