Company Info

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a major luxury hospitality group headquartered in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and serviced residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. The company is known for Asian-inspired hospitality, strong service standards and premium properties in city and resort destinations. In Malaysia, Shangri-La operates several well-established hotels and resorts, including the Rasa Sayang Resort and Golden Sands Resort in Penang. The group offers accommodation, dining, meetings, wellness and leisure experiences for business and holiday travellers. Destination Guide

Penang, often called the Pearl of the Orient, offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, events, retail, technology and international business. The island combines George Town's UNESCO-listed heritage, beaches, modern shopping areas and a lively food culture. Lifestyle is generally relaxed, affordable compared with Kuala Lumpur, and well suited to people who enjoy warm weather, outdoor activities and multicultural communities. English is widely used in hotels and business, while Malay, Mandarin and other languages are common. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship for an appropriate Malaysian employment pass, with approval and documentation handled before starting work; requirements can change, so official immigration guidance should be checked. Relocation usually involves arranging accommodation, healthcare coverage, banking and transport. Penang International Airport provides regional connections, while buses, taxis and ride-hailing services support daily travel.
