Jobs are available in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, events, wellness, and marine recreation. The culture is multicultural, shaped by Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous traditions, with English commonly used in tourist areas. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living to relaxed island life, with affordable food, tropical weather, beaches, rainforests, and strong public transport in major cities. Foreign employees generally need an approved employment pass sponsored by the employer before starting work; requirements vary by nationality, salary, and position.
