Company Info

Shangri-La is a global luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and Africa. Its properties are known for personalised service, comfortable surroundings, high-quality dining, and extensive leisure facilities. In Malaysia, Shangri-La operates a number of well-established city and resort properties, serving international travellers, families, business guests, and local customers. Destination Guide

Malaysia offers resort opportunities on islands and coastal destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, Pangkor, and parts of Sabah and Sarawak. Spa, hotel, restaurant, housekeeping, diving, and guest-service roles are common, particularly during peak travel periods. Langkawi provides a relaxed beach lifestyle, affordable local food, outdoor activities, and a sizeable tourism community. Malaysian culture is diverse, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous traditions, with English widely used in hotels. Costs are generally lower than in Singapore, although island accommodation can be more expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored employment pass, and approval must be obtained before starting work. Candidates should confirm salary, housing, transport, insurance, meals, contract length, and relocation support with Shangri-La. Reliable internet, healthcare, and shopping are available, but island life can be quieter and more humid than city living.
