Destination Guide

Malaysia is a multicultural country with opportunities in hospitality, finance, tourism, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, and education. Major employment hubs include Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, Kota Kinabalu, and Langkawi, while resort islands offer hotel and tourism roles. Daily life combines modern shopping centers, efficient private healthcare, varied public transport, and affordable food, alongside tropical weather and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Malay is the official language, but English is widely used in business and hotels; Chinese and Indian communities add to the country’s cultural diversity. Foreign employees normally need an employment pass sponsored by their employer, and approval must be obtained before starting work. Applicants should verify passport, qualification, medical, and immigration requirements with the company and Malaysian authorities. Relocation costs vary by city, with Kuala Lumpur generally offering the broadest services and Langkawi a quieter resort lifestyle.
