Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, healthcare, education, technology and business services. For resort work, Langkawi, Penang, Sabah and islands around Terengganu are popular destinations, while Kuala Lumpur and Johor provide broader career options. Malaysian culture is diverse, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with Islam playing an important role in public life. The lifestyle is generally affordable, and employees enjoy tropical weather, beaches, rainforest, varied food and relaxed social activities, although traffic and humidity can be challenging. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored employment pass or appropriate work permit; requirements depend on nationality, role, salary and sector. Secure the job offer and approval before relocating, and confirm accommodation, insurance, taxes, transport and dependent arrangements with the employer. Resort locations may be quieter and more isolated than major cities.
