Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, healthcare, technology, finance and logistics. Hospitality roles are concentrated around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa and the airport, and English is widely used at work. The culture is multicultural, orderly and safety-conscious, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping and abundant parks. Living costs are high, especially for accommodation, although buses and the MRT make commuting convenient. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass: service and operational roles may qualify for an S Pass or Work Permit, while more specialised professional positions may qualify for an Employment Pass, subject to prevailing salary and eligibility rules. Candidates should secure an offer before relocating, confirm housing and medical coverage, and check current requirements with Singapore's Ministry of Manpower.
