Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, attractions, aviation, retail, technology, finance and healthcare. Hospitality roles are available in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants and visitor attractions, although competition can be high. The culture is multicultural, orderly and generally English-speaking, with Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences visible in food, festivals and daily life. Public transport is efficient, healthcare and infrastructure are well developed, and the city offers beaches, parks, shopping and nightlife, though accommodation and living costs can be expensive. Foreign applicants normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and government approval. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. New arrivals should budget for housing, transport, insurance and deposits before relocating.
