Job Description

The Spa Coordinator supports the smooth daily operation of the spa by welcoming guests, managing appointments, handling telephone and front-desk enquiries, processing payments, coordinating therapists’ schedules, and maintaining accurate records. Candidates should have customer-service or spa experience, good communication and organisational skills, a professional appearance, and basic computer knowledge. Experience in a luxury hotel or wellness environment is advantageous. The role requires a warm, discreet, service-focused attitude, flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, and the ability to promote spa treatments and hotel services while maintaining Shangri-La’s service standards.

Company Info

Shangri-La is an international luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other major destinations. The company is recognised for personalised service, comfortable surroundings and its signature Asian-inspired hospitality. Shangri-La properties typically offer accommodation, restaurants, bars, spas, recreation facilities and conference services, creating career opportunities across guest services, wellness, food and beverage, engineering, finance and management. In Malaysia, the group operates well-known hotels and resorts in locations such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kota Kinabalu. Employees are generally expected to provide attentive, culturally sensitive service, work as part of a diverse team and uphold high standards of professionalism, cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and other resort destinations. Roles are available in hotels, spas, restaurants, tourism, wellness and guest services, with stronger seasonal demand in island resorts. Malaysian culture is diverse, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions; English is widely used in hotels, while Malay is the national language. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to relaxed beach communities, with generally affordable food and transport. Langkawi and Penang provide island living, although Malaysia is a multicultural country rather than one single island destination. Foreign employees normally need an employment pass sponsored by the employer, and should not begin work on a tourist visa. Applicants should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, medical cover and relocation support before accepting an offer. Costs and weather vary by location, with warm, humid conditions year-round.
