Job Description

The Senior Threat & Attack Researcher researches emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, vulnerabilities and adversary behaviour to strengthen Optus security capabilities. The role typically requires substantial experience in threat intelligence, penetration testing, red teaming, malware or attack research, along with strong knowledge of networking, cloud environments, operating systems and security frameworks. Candidates should be comfortable analysing complex technical information, developing detection or mitigation strategies, writing clear reports and presenting findings to technical and business stakeholders. Practical experience with security tools, scripting, incident response and threat modelling is valuable. The successful candidate is expected to work independently, collaborate across cyber-security teams and continuously improve the organisation's ability to anticipate and respond to sophisticated attacks.
