Destination Guide

The Philippines offers career opportunities in banking, shared services, technology, BPO, healthcare, tourism, manufacturing, and logistics, especially in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, English-friendly, and relationship-focused, with strong influences from Asian, Spanish, and American traditions. Lifestyle ranges from fast-paced urban living in Makati and Manila to more relaxed coastal life on islands such as Cebu, Palawan, and Siargao. Living costs vary considerably; housing and commuting are usually more expensive in major business districts. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa, commonly an employment visa such as the 9(g), subject to immigration and labor approvals. Job seekers should confirm sponsorship, tax obligations, healthcare coverage, and contract terms before relocating. Public transport is widely used, while traffic and seasonal weather can affect daily travel.
