Destination Guide

The Philippines is an archipelago with major employment centers on Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Manila and nearby cities offer the widest opportunities in banking, finance, technology, business services, retail, and multinational companies. Cebu is a strong regional hub for banking, outsourcing, tourism, and technology, while Davao provides growing opportunities in commerce, agriculture, and services. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, community-minded, and English-friendly. Life in Manila is energetic but traffic and housing costs can be challenging; Cebu and Davao often offer a slower pace. Foreign nationals usually need an employer-sponsored work visa or permit, while Filipino citizens can relocate freely within the country. New arrivals should arrange employment, accommodation, health insurance, and local documentation before moving. Public transport is widely available, and English is commonly used in workplaces.
