Company Info

United Overseas Bank (UOB) is a major Singapore-based bank with operations across Southeast Asia and other international markets. The group provides retail and consumer banking, commercial and corporate banking, wealth management, investment services, credit cards, loans, payments, and digital banking solutions. UOB expanded its regional presence significantly through the acquisition of Citigroup’s consumer banking businesses in several markets, including Thailand. In Thailand, the bank serves individual and business customers through branches, digital channels, and relationship teams. Its employees typically work in a regulated, service-focused environment where customer protection, responsible lending, compliance, operational accuracy, and financial performance are important. Benefits and compensation can vary by grade and may include medical coverage, provident fund contributions, bonuses, and performance incentives.

Destination Guide

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and a major tourism, hospitality, property, healthcare, education, and service-business centre. Job opportunities are strongest in hotels, restaurants, travel, retail, banking, real estate, technology, and customer-facing services; Thai speakers generally have the widest choice, while English and other languages are valuable in tourism and international companies. The culture combines Southern Thai traditions, Buddhist customs, seafood-focused cuisine, and a relaxed coastal lifestyle. Living costs vary considerably: central and beach areas are expensive, while Phuket Town and nearby inland districts are usually more practical for long-term residents. Thailand requires foreigners to obtain the appropriate visa and work permit before taking employment; the employer normally supports the process, with requirements depending on nationality and role. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, salary, accommodation, healthcare, tax, and relocation support directly with UOB before moving.
