Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, financial services, technology, healthcare, logistics and professional services. Its multicultural population blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its languages, festivals and food. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and urban, with excellent public transport, healthcare, schools and extensive shopping and dining options. Housing is generally the largest expense, especially in central areas, while public transport is affordable and reliable. Foreign professionals usually need an employment pass sponsored by their employer; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience and the role’s requirements. Employers typically guide successful candidates through the application process. New arrivals should budget for rent, deposits, insurance and daily costs, and compare neighbourhoods based on commuting distance to the CBD. Singapore’s warm, humid weather and limited space are also important relocation considerations.
