Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers job opportunities across retail, healthcare, technology, logistics, finance and professional services. Its culture is diverse and generally informal, with strong traditions in sport, music, public holidays and local community life. Lifestyle varies from busy cities such as London, Manchester and Edinburgh to quieter coastal and rural areas. The UK has public healthcare through the NHS, although access and eligibility depend on immigration status. Most overseas workers need a visa, commonly employer sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route; pharmacists must also meet General Pharmaceutical Council registration requirements. Check salary thresholds, sponsorship eligibility and professional registration before relocating. Living costs are highest in London and the South East, while many northern and Welsh areas are more affordable. Public transport is extensive, and newcomers should plan for housing, council tax, banking and National Insurance.
